December 2019

RISD NADS is the ice hockey team of the Rhode Island School of Design and they needed a new identity that better represents the fast paced sport with an art school attitude.

Since the work is for a art school ice hockey team competing in the Massachusetts Men’s League, I seeked inspiration in AIGA and made a parody of their Chapman University Panel Discussion Poster. Mixing the designer roots with hand drawn ice hockey imagery, the posters started looking official but attention grabbing.

The posters were initially printed on 11”x17” paper through a risograph than illusturated with black ink. Selected 8 from the original 80 were scanned and cleaned up in Photoshop and printed in 26”x36” size on matte photo paper through a plotter.

An animation and pins were made to accompany the poster campaign.
