Abidin Dino
Poster
April 2020

On an earlier project, I invested in the poems sent between writer Nazım Hikmet and painter Abidin Dino where Nazım asks: “Can you paint me a picture of happiness, Abidin?”. However, while reading a later essay by Dino, I noticed Dino had an alternative answer to the question.

Excerpts from Dino’s books Faces, and Hands to a series of posters were re-arrenged. As they are exhibited in the streets of Istanbul and Providence, the poster series amplify Dino’s writings by reillusturating them and bringing them to the public eye.

Since there are no English translations of the books, the posters aim to bring the genious of Dino to an English speaking audience.

Completed for Design Studio II under the guidence of  Paul Soulellis in Rhode Island School of Design.
